The NouveauDerm Laser Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment using Palomar Medical's RejuveLux Photofacial process for the treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions on the face, arms, chest, and other large areas. Using the Intense Pulse Light process we are able to clear sunspots, rosacea, red facial vessels, and other conditions, in order to improve skin tone. Treating a pigmented lesion with the pulsed light results in heating the melanin or dark brown pigment. The damaged lesion then naturally flakes off as the skin exfoliates. Similar results are seen in the treatment of vascular lesions. The absorption of the light in oxyhemoglobin or red blood vessels result in the coagulation, vasoconstriction, and damage the vessel lining. All of which contribute to the degeneration and disappearance of any visible vessels.
